Tip 7 of 10: Think about the contrasts
Contrasts
are definitely one of the key elements in street photography. Use them. Some
hints for you: dark clothes on the white background and vice versa, clothes of
the person that are similar to the road sign, parked or driving car,
advertisement poster that are close to this person, behind or in front of the
person, etc.
Sun or any light that comes
direct in front of you and your camera (i.e. backlight) can be also used for
creative purposes in photography. If the light comes directly on the street,
shoot against it and you will get interesting photos with silhouettes of people
and shadows.
There can be also interesting contrasts between the
age, sex and material status of people on the street (young vs old, men vs
women, rich vs poor, etc.).
